2015-2016 NHL Award Predictions

James Norris Memorial Trophy

Victor Hedman- Tampa Bay Lightning

This second overall pick will build on his great season last year, standing at 6’6” and with more agility than you’d anticipate he will have the ability to turn away any attack coming his direction. His fourth year in the NHL will be his best yet.

Honorable Mentions: P.K. Subban- Montreal Canadiens, Kevin Shattenkirk- St Louis Blues

Art Ross Trophy

John Tavares- New York Islanders

Tavares finished second in points last season and I believe he is going to improve, the pieces around him are getting much better, for example Kyle Okposo due to the spark Tavares adds. John Tavares should easily break the 90 point mark this season and I wouldn’t be surprised if he flirted with 100.

Honorable Mentions: Sidney Crosby- Pittsburgh Penguins, Tyler Seguin- Dallas Stars

Calder Memorial Trophy

Connor McDavid- Edmonton Oilers

I honestly think I do not need to explain this pick, Eichel is great but he’s no McDavid.

Honorable Mention: Jack Eichel- Buffalo Sabres (More of a formality, McDavid is winning it)

Vezina Trophy

Jonathan Quick- Los Angeles Kings

In my opinion Jonathan Quick is the best goalie in the National Hockey League no questions asked. I think I like him because he is a mainstay for Team USA come the Winter Olympics and played his college hockey at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The Kings have a pattern forming of winning the Stanley Cup every other year, and if that pattern continues they’ll win this year meaning great goaltending from Quick all season. Also, he probably has the best name for a goalie in the history of hockey ever, Quick.

Honorable Mentions (Trophy): Ben Bishop- Tampa Bay Lightning, Carey Price- Montreal Canadiens

Honorable Mentions (Goalie Names): Viktor Fasth- CSKA Moscow, Pekka Rinne- Nashville Predators

Hart Memorial Trophy

Steven Stamkos- Tampa Bay Lightning

Stamkos finished second in goals scored last year but due to a mediocre playoffs his season went somewhat unappreciated. Still only 25 years old on one of the best teams in the NHL, and give him something to prove with last years playoff outcome, watch out. Get out of his way as he is going to have the most goals he has ever scored in a season, and Steven open up a spot on your mantle for the Hart Memorial trophy.

Honorable Mentions: John Tavares- New York Islanders, Sidney Crosby- Pittsburgh Penguins
