National signing is on Wednesday February 3rd and Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has dominated the recruiting headlines as of late. He has recently slept over a recruit’s house and he has added many high profile recruits which has led him to have the fifth ranked class at this point. But there is still one recruit the Wolverines want to sign that could change this whole class.
The top ranked player in the 2016 class is defensive tackle Rashan Gary. He is expected to sign with Michigan but some schools have started to work their way up as time is running out. The two national championship participants, Alabama and Clemson have gained traction as well as the Georgia Bulldogs who currently hold the top ranking for this year’s recruiting class. Michigan may lose out on him but as of now they are still the favorite to hold on to the best high school player in the country.
Rashan Gary would make instant impact as Freshman for an already great defense in Michigan. He possesses great strength and speed while measuring in at 6’5” and 295 lbs. He is dominant in both the pass rush and run game and he consistently gets into the backfield. His skills were put on display against the country’s top talent in the Under Armour All American Game where he had six tackles for 3 sacks, 3.5 for a loss and he also won game’s MVP. Gary already has the talent and size to be a great college player and if he signs with Harbaugh, he could lead them new heights while becoming an instant star.
